Unity with God is to think like God and to do what He does. He wants us to see people through His eyes. God is love; He isn’t bitter, spiteful, or full of hatred. When we pray and fast, God will reveal that which isn’t like Him because He wants us to become one with Him. When we are united with God, He can work in and through us. Then there is power.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19 (NKJV)

Pray The Word

We will accomplish so much as a nation when we walk in unity with our brothers and sisters. Here are a few Bible verses to help us pray for unity in the USA.

  1. Lord, You are a God of unity. (Ephesians 1:10)

  2. Thank You that we are Your children, and in You, we are one. (Galatians 3:26-28)

  3. Lord, thank You that we are all members of Christ’s body. (Romans 12:4-5)

  4. Lord, there is strength in unity. (Leviticus 26:7-8; Deuteronomy 32:30)

  5. Your love unifies us and helps us to walk in perfect harmony with each other. (Colossians 3:13-14)

  6. Lord, forgive me for allowing jealousy and quarreling to cause disunity in my relationship with others.
    (1 Corinthians 3:3)

  7. I repent and ask Your forgiveness where I have looked down on others. (Romans 12:16)

  8. Lord, help me to forgive and walk in love and unity with my brothers and sisters. (Ephesians 4:32)

  9. Your Word says that You command a blessing on unity. I pray that unity will fill this nation. (Psalm 133:1-3)

  10. Lord, help me be compassionate and sympathetic towards my brothers and sisters so there will be no divisions.
    (1 Peter 3:8)

  11. Help us, Lord, to be united as one body. (Judges 20:11)

  12. Lord, help us to walk in agreement with one another and avoid unnecessary disagreements. (1 Corinthians 1:10)

  13. Lord, help me to resist all foolish arguments that break down unity. (2 Timothy 2:23-24)

  14. Help me, Lord, to be gentle, show humility to everyone and not slander. (Titus 3:1-2)

  15. Lord, please give me the mind of Christ so that I can see others as You see them. (Romans 15:5-7)

  16. Lord, thank You that You hear our prayers as we pray and stand in agreement for unity in the USA.
    (Matthew 18:19-20)

  17. Lord, help Your children to pray together constantly. (Acts 1:14)

Week 1

1. Splitting Image

Abraham took his nephew, Lot, with him on a long journey. While Lot was under Abraham’s covering, he was abundantly blessed. A dispute about land arose, and strife entered Abraham’s family. Instead of walking in unity, they were divided and separated; each went his way.

Although Lot chose the fertile land and left Abraham with the rocky desert, Lot lost all his blessings and became destitute. Discord divides nations, families and individuals. It happened in the Bible and is still happening today. The Church is God’s family, and Satan causes division among us. God, however, has the last move. When we walk in the Spirit, God will supernaturally unify us.

“How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!” Psalm 133:1 (NLT)

2. “Peace” in a Pod

  • As a God’s children, we will encounter strife, division, and conflict. How you deal with it makes the difference. You are the peacemaker. If we struggle to hold our tongues or are provoked into strife, we must go to God, and make it right with Him so we may walk in peace again.

  • We must ask ourselves these questions: Are we people of peace? Do we resist strife? Are we in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ?

PRAY: Lord, help us to be peacemakers who resist strife. We pray the USA will become a united nation. Amen.

3. Unity with God

Sometimes, it feels as if things escalate when we fast and pray. It’s because God is dealing with things in our lives that may cause disunity. We may think there’s nothing wrong with our friends, a specific relationship, business ties, or the way we handled a situation with our children, but God sees things differently.

“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:21 (KJV)

Week 2

1. Reflecting God’s Image

God wants unity in marriages, family, and in the Church. We cannot become one if we still have our ideas, feelings, hatred, bitterness, preconceived ideas, and traditions. When we lay it down, we become one-minded with Him and think like Him.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19 (NKJV)

2. Something to Reflect On

  • You may be okay, and then something happens that irritates you or upsets you. When you pray, God may bring these things to mind. When you search your heart and cleanse it, God unites you with Himself.

  • Then we will have one mind, and He can use us for His glory. He can use us in our town, city, country, and government—because they will see a different spirit. They will see the Spirit of Love, not hatred.

PRAY: Lord, cleanse our hearts and unite us with our brothers and sisters. Help the USA to unite as a country in love, not discord. Amen.

3. Unity with God

Prayer is a consistent lifestyle of agreeing with God, walking in that authority and dominion. Prayer displaces and overrides what is governing in the spiritual realm. Prayer releases the heavens, the angelic hosts, and the Spirit of God moves. When that heavenly realm engages, the glory changes mentalities and hearts.

“And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.” Psalm 72:19 (KJV)

Week 3

1. One Mind

Jesus left the disciples with a command to gather in the Upper Room. As they gathered, they were in unity. There was oneness of heart, mind, and no strife. There was no gossip, discontent or sin because they feared God.

After Jesus had risen from the dead, He opened their minds to understand His Word and to receive the Holy Spirit.

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:1-2 (KJV)

2. One Heart

  • There was no selfishness in the Upper Room. They didn’t mind sharing or looking after each other. They had one focus, one mind, and that was to seek the Kingdom of God. There were no other intentions or motives; they didn’t want anything else but the Kingdom of God and the power of God.

  • In that Upper Room, we have to lay down disunity and hatred.

PRAY: Lord, we repent where we have allowed disunity in our hearts. Lord, release a spirit of unity in our nation. Amen.

3. Unity with God

Prayer is the source of God’s power. We need to be a praying people so that we won’t be a weak people. The Bible says the apostles gave themselves to prayer. Jesus gave. God so loved the world that He gave. The apostles gave. It’s a sacrifice to be in a lifestyle of prayer—to be a praying church is a sacrifice.

“Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5-6 (NKJV)
