Prayer Material

May God give us the great gift of an intercessory spirit, a spirit of prayer and supplication, a spirit that loves God and loves people.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)

Pray The Word

When we walk in love, we fulfill one of the greatest commandments. Let’s pray that the USA will walk in love and be an example to many nations. Here are Bible verses to help us pray.

  1. Lord, when we love one another, it is because You dwell in us. (1 John 4:12)

  2. We love because You first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

  3. Thank You that Your love is poured out in our hearts through Your Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:5)

  4. We are rooted and grounded in Your love. (Ephesians 3:17)

  5. Thank You, Lord, for giving us a spirit of power, LOVE, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

  6. Today, we clothe ourselves in Your love, which binds everything in perfect harmony. (Colossians 3:14)

  7. Lord, help us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. (Matthew 5:44)

  8. Lord, we pray that all that we do will be done out of a spirit of love. (1 Corinthians 16:14)

  9. Fill us with Your love so that we will have fervent love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins.
    (1 Peter 4:8)

  10. Lord, help us increase and abound in love for one another and for all. (1 Thessalonians 3:12)

  11. Help us, Lord, to imitate You in our love-walk with others. (Ephesians 5:1)

  12. May our love for others be sincere. (Romans 12:9)

  13. Lord, help us demonstrate Your love by being patient and kind. (1 Corinthians 13:4)

  14. Help us to love others as You have loved us. (John 15:12)

  15. Lord, may people see that we are Your disciples because of the love we have for one another. (John 13:35)

  16. God, You are love. Help us reflect that we know You because of our love. (1 John 4:8)

  17. Thank You, Father, for loving us so much that You gave Your Son for our salvation. (John 3:16)

  18. Thank You, Lord, that nothing can separate us from Your love, which is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:38-39)

Week 1

Week 1

1. Love Gives

God is love. He has no selfishness; His nature is to give. He gave us Jesus. Sin robbed the world of love; it made man selfish. Selfishness cannot love; it accuses. When Adam and Eve sinned, their focus turned to self. They knew they had messed up when they saw they were naked. Instead of acknowledging their sin, they tried to pass the blame.

Jesus came to the world and showed humanity what love is. He lived a life loving His enemies and died the death of love. He walked in love, and when He left, He gave us the Spirit in Him—the Spirit of Love. Jesus said, “As I have loved you, so also you must love one another.”

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 (NKJV)

2. Spirit of Love

  • When we receive the Spirit of Love—God’s mind, heart, and nature—we see miracles around us. We won’t have to look for miracles.

  • Seek the Spirit of Love, and the rest will follow. We must commit to spending time with God daily and seek His Kingdom of love, peace, and righteousness.

PRAY: Lord, fill us afresh with Your love. Help us to love like You do. Amen.

3. Love to Pray

When it is a habit to wait on the Lord daily, Him filling us, we take His presence with us wherever we go. His presence, that Spirit of Love in us, will change the people around us. That is the power we want. The power of love is more than praying for ears to hear and eyes to see. The Bible says if we have no love, we have nothing. Even if we give our bodies to be burned or have all the faith in the world, it means nothing without His love.

“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1 (MEV)

Week 2

Week 2

1. God is Love

We are baptized with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love. He is the Spirit of Jesus that works in us. He is the Spirit of God. God is love. The Holy Spirit is the very character of God—which is love.

The Word is the searchlight in our hearts that tests our thoughts. Jesus, the Word, and the Holy Spirit search our hearts and test everything we do to see if it’s done out of love. We should daily seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love. The more we have of the Holy Spirit, the more loving we become.

“...the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5 (NET)

2. Walk in Love

  • When we walk in love, we automatically walk in the Spirit.

  • Many people focus on what they say and how they act outwardly, but their hearts are in opposition to what they say and do. We need to ask God to search our hearts and show us where our hearts and actions don’t line up, where we aren’t aligned with His will.

PRAY: Lord, search our hearts and show us where we need to walk in love. Fill our nation with Your love. Amen.

3. Love to Pray

How do we pray for people? Like Esther did. Esther was willing to give her life. She didn’t walk into the throne room, throwing her weight around, telling the king what to do. Esther walked in fear and trembling, trusting the king’s love for her. She had to trust him. Likewise, with a humble spirit, we approach the throne of God, interceding for others.

We don’t throw our weight around waving a finger at people or God, telling Him how to deal with them. No, we intercede for people with the help of the Spirit of Love, the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of Love intercedes for people and loved ones differently than we would. Likewise, the Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses.

“For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26 (NKJV)

Week 3

Week 3

1. Choose to Love

We choose to walk in love because we have chosen the presence of God. When we spend time in God’s presence, He fills us with His power and love, and we take His presence everywhere we go. Jesus is our example of walking in love.

Everywhere Jesus went, He touched people’s lives because He was in the power of God, and the power of God was in Him. He was in the presence of God, and the presence of God was in Him. He was in the love of God, and the love of God was in Him. He was in the joy of the Lord, and the joy of the Lord was in Him. He was in the faith of God, and the faith of God was in Him.

“...even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38 (ASV)

2. Loving God

  • The Bible says we are separated unto the Holy Spirit and God, and the fruit of the Spirit is love. Loving God is the best way to learn how to love. Do we love Him enough to wait on Him to fill us with Himself, with His love?

  • May God help us each day to wait quietly upon Him—not for ourselves, but for others. We must ask Him to show us the areas in our lives where our love has grown cold.

PRAY: Lord, help us understand the height and depth of Your love for us and for others. Amen.

3. Love to Pray

Jesus died so that people can have everlasting life. We have a mission on earth to lead people to the Lord and to love them. When a soul is saved, it is not us doing the work. It is the Holy Spirit; it’s the power of God.

4. Pray for the USA

Week 4

Week 4

1. Rooted in Love

The Bible teaches us to be rooted in love. When we are deeply rooted in Christ Jesus, our lives belong to Him. We don’t have our personality anymore; we have the personality of Jesus. His thoughts. His mind. His emotions.

Rooted in love, we’re a tree that is always green. Deeply rooted in Jesus, we will stand in the storms and withstand all seasons and circumstances because our lives belong to Him.

“…so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love…” Ephesians 3:17 (AMP)

2. Filled with Love

  • The Bible says a good tree cannot bear bad fruit. The world will know us by our fruits.

  • Is love and peace prominent in every situation? When something terrible happens, are we at peace or panic like everyone else? If there is bad news or somebody is mistreated, do we join in with the gossip?

PRAY: Lord, please help us bear fruit consistent with a life filled with Your love. Amen.

3. Love to Pray

Prayer is not optional; it’s a required mandate from God. The enemy wants to overtake and destroy everything that is of God. There is an antichrist spirit in the world. False religions want to take over. We have the power. We have the authority. We also have a responsibility to be a house of prayer. We are called to be living stones—a spiritual house. That spiritual house is a house of prayer. “He said to them, The Scripture says, My house shall be called a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of robbers.” Matthew 21:13 (AMPC)

“…you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5 (NKJV)

4. Pray for the USA

Week 5

Week 5

1. Love Every Moment

Every moment that God gives us matters. It matters what we do, what we think, how we spend our time, and how we treat people. It matters how much of the Word we have inside of us. There were ten virgins, five wise and five foolish. The wise virgins filled themselves with the Word and with prayer. They were loving people, helping people, and they had forethought. They allowed the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts, to cleanse their hearts and souls.

Choosing to walk in love isn’t easy, forgiving isn’t easy, and letting go isn’t easy, but it is wise.

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.” Matthew 25:1-4 (ESV)

2. Keep Loving

  • Our hearts should be grounded in innocent, pure, undefiled love.

  • We must walk in the love of Jesus every day. In our walk, we will experience hurt and betrayal. It’s Satan’s way to try and corrupt our hearts. We must ask the Lord to show us if there is anyone we need to forgive and then pray for those people.

PRAY: Lord, help us to be wise in our relationships. Please show us where we need to forgive. Amen.

3. Love to Pray

If we want to pray in power and want God to pour out His Spirit in power, we must covenant with God. We give our lives to God and enter the covenant where we promise to love with a heavenly love. “God, we will love our brothers and sisters like You commanded us to love our neighbors.” It is about being servants of love.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28 (NLT)
